Topic review - Faculty Load Survey (hosted by San Jacinto College)
Post Posted: Thu Dec 10, 2015 2:30 pm
San Jacinto College District needs your help! Like all the members of TACTE, San Jacinto College provides quality technical instruction at an affordable price for our students. To continue to preserve and promote the excellence of education provided at two-year colleges, we must attract and retain the most qualified faculty members, and in order to do so, we must remain apprised of various compensation structures and faculty course load standards throughout the educational industry. In furtherance of that goal, San Jacinto College has assembled a Business and Technology Faculty Load Task Force comprised of faculty, department chairs, human resource representatives, and college administrators, who have been charged with the task of examining faculty course loads and compensation structures not only at San Jacinto College, but within technical programs at two-year institutions throughout Texas. The ultimate goal is to make recommendations for possible faculty load changes at San Jacinto College that will result in more evenly distributed load assignments while continuing to meet the individualized needs of each program and improve the quality of education provided to each student. The following link will lead you to a brief survey about course loads and compensation at your institution. Please take a moment to respond to this short poll, and once the committee has made its recommendations, a summary of the statewide results will be sent to you in exchange for your cooperation.
