THECB has posted a Request for Applications (RFA) for the 2016-2018 Comprehensive College Readiness and Success Models for 60x30TX (CRSM) Grant Program. Below are pertinent details regarding the RFA.

PURPOSE: to award “funding based on student served” grants that support scaling and enhancing comprehensive strategies and activities to accomplish the priorities of the agency for achieving the goals and targets of the new higher education strategic plan, 60x30TX. To receive funding, eligible applicants must have experience with one or more of the following instructional models and a plan to scale and enhance the model(s) to benefit more students.
• Gateway Course Completion models (for college ready students) - For these models, eligible applicants will identify courses that have a high rate of failure (grades of D or F) or withdrawal and integrate research-based practices into these courses and into the institution to increase student success.
• Acceleration models (for underprepared students pursuing academic programs) - For these models, eligible applicants must accelerate underprepared students through the developmental education sequence by enrolling them into college-level coursework and providing the appropriate subject specific developmental education intervention(s) and support. The goal is for underprepared students to successfully complete developmental education and the subsequent college-level course in one semester.
• Integrated Career Pathways models (for underprepared students pursuing Career Technical Education (CTE) programs) - For these model options, eligible applicants must enroll high school complete students and/or non-high school complete students enrolled in career technical education programs under Ability to Benefit in Level 1 Certificate (CERT1) programs, and integrate a basic skills support component utilizing a Developmental Education Basic Academic Skill Education (BASE) Non-Course Competency-Based Developmental Education Interventions (NCBO) or NCBO and cross-listed with adult education or continuing education basic skills support.

EXPECTED AWARD AMOUNT: varies based on model(s) selected and number of students served.
PROJECT PERIOD: on or about August 1, 2016 to August 31, 2018. To the extent additional funding is available, at the sole discretion of the THECB, additional years of funding may be provided.
