Dual Credit Tuition & Fees

Tuition and Fee policy for dual credit students varies across the state. For in-district students, 11 college districts (22%) waive all tuition and fees for dual credit students while 10 districts (20%) do not provide any waivers. 29 college districts (58%) provide dual credit students with a partial reduction of tuition & fees. For out-of-district students, 4 college districts (8%) waive all tuition and fees while 12 districts (24%) do not provide any waivers. A partial reduction of tuition & fees is provided to dual credit students by 34 college districts (68%).


Legislative Budget Board (LBB)

The LBB will meet on Monday, December 1st at 11:00 am to conduct a hearing to select the methodology required by the Constitution for state spending leveels. Article VIII of the state constitution limits the rate of growth of appropriations from state tax revenue (not constitutionally dedicated) to an estimated rate of growth of the state's economy. The adoption of this rate falls to the LBB and will set the upward limit of any increase in the amount of appropriations by the upcoming 84th Legislature.


House Committee on Appropriations

The committee will meet on December 1st at 1:30 pm to consider the following:

- The state spending limit set by the LBB
- An overview of the state's revenue estimate
- Budget drivers for the 84th session


Community & Technical College Leadership Council (THECB)

The Council will meet on Thursday, December 4th at the Higher Education Coordinating Board. The agenda for the meeting includes:

- Updates and discussions on the coordinating board's agency reorganization, the upcoming legislative session, and the next higher education strategic plan.
